Multi-Key Claw Interlock KLC

The KLC is a dual key bolt interlock designed for mechanically interlocking switchgear, valves or machinery with mechanical linkage.

The unit comprises heavy-duty lock body, two lock centers and a locking bolt with claw. The KLC can be used in a double key condition, for use at the beginning and end of an interlocking sequence, or in an exchange key condition, as part of a continuing interlocking sequence or where a personal key is required.

Double key condition: In the normal 'locked off' operating condition, the claw is extended and both keys are free. To withdraw the claw, both keys must be inserted and turned. With the claw withdrawn both keys remain trapped.

Exchange key condition: In the normal 'locked off' operating condition, the claw is extended, the Primary key is trapped and the secondary key is free. Inserting and turning the secondary key releases the claw and the Primary key. In this condition, the secondary key remains trapped and the claw cannot be re-extended.
